Dr. BJ Field is the director of Canberra City Osteopathy which was established in 2005. Originally a massage therapist and gym instructor he became inspired by the Osteopathic approach to primary health care and pursued study in Osteopathy. Graduating from RMIT in 2000 with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Clinical Science) Bachelor of Osteopathic Science, BJ has since continued with studies in clinical education and management.
BJ is currently the national president of the Australian Osteopathic Association. He also holds the position of Deputy Chair on the ACT Osteopaths registration board and is a board member of the Australian Osteopathic Council.
The Osteopathic profession diagnoses, treats and manages over thirty thousand patients per week with an exceptional safety record. B.J. enthusiastically campaigns to enable osteopathic services to reach all Australians, working to establish this skill base in hospitals, community clinics, etc.
BJ enjoys treating a diverse range of conditions with manual medicine, whether they are acute or chronic in nature. He is actively involved in the teaching and learning of his colleagues and staff and encourages an environment of team work and professional support at Canberra City Osteopathy.
When away from the clinic BJ tries to spend time fishing, riding motorcycles, hiking and travelling with his family.
