Director of Canberra City Health Network,
(Formerly Canberra City Osteopathy)
- Associate Diploma in Health Science
- Bachelor of Applied Science (Clinical Science)
- Bachelor of Osteopathic Science
- Graduate Certificate in Clinical Education
My journey in health began in 1994. Originally a massage therapist and gym instructor I worked as an Osteopathic assistant and football trainer. I became inspired by Osteopathic philosophy and pursued study in Osteopathy graduating from RMIT in 2000. After this I worked as a locum in both Australia and abroad while lecturing in clinical anatomy in relation to manual therapy before moving to Canberra.
After nearly 3 years as an associate in the ACT, I established Canberra City Health Network (formerly Canberra City Osteopathy) in 2004, which is now one of Australia’s largest Osteopathic clinics. The ethos of the clinic from its very conception has been about quality care, treatment and service of our patients from the first point of contact to the ongoing care of the patient from a team approach.
I felt strongly about being involved in, and giving back to my profession, which led me on a journey including being:
- ACT president of the Australian Osteopathic Association (AOA) 2005-2008.
- Deputy chair of the ACT Osteopaths registration board 2007-2010.
- Board member of the Australian And New Zealand Osteopathic Council (ANZOC) 2008-2010.
- National President of the AOA (2008-2010).
Since 2001, I have also worked both on and in Osteopathy and massage education which has given the clinic a greater observation into our graduates and how to deliver best care to the patient.
My background as the National President of Osteopathy Australia and other similar positions gave me a privileged insight to the health terrain. From these experiences we have grown processes and procedures and mentored our staff to be capable and reflective professionals.
We have tutorials and ongoing continual professional development like no other, assuring the outcomes for the clinics patients are of the highest calibre.
The rate of growth of our clinic demanded that we both expand with our second clinic in Casey, and deliver an even more diverse expertise with a team approach offering Exercise Physiology, Hydrotherapy, Massage Therapy, Osteopathy, Pilates, Physiotherapy, Psychology and Nutrition.
